Sheldon Fox
Sheldon Fox was born in Washington, CT to Marcus and Marcia Minerva (Hubbell) Fox.
He enlisted on August 7, 1862 at the age of 17 as a Private in Co. 19th Infantry Regiment Connecticut Volunteers. He later served in the in 2nd Regiment Heavy Artillery CT Volunteers. He was discharged on July 7, 1865. His brother Lucius Fox served in the 8th CT Vol.
Sheldon married Elizabeth M. Thomas. After the war, Sheldon, his wife, and his father-in-law
together with Lucius and his wife (Elma Schriver) went to Nebraska and claimed a Government Homestead. Both Sheldon and Lucius sold their land and moved their families back to Connecticut. Sheldon settled in Watertown. He died June 6, 1919 in Roxbury, CT.
