Earle Buckingham
Earle Buckingham was born in New Milford, CT on April 2, 1829 to Anna Wells and Herman Buckingham. He married Mary Helen Mitchell on April 12, 1854.
He enlisted in 1861 for 3 years of service and was mustered into the 4th Pennsylvania Cavalry and was the band leader. After a year of service, Earle contracted typhoid fever and by command was discharged from service. A subsitute was furnished on his behalf for the remainder of the war.
He returned to his family in Litchfield County. He died on January 11, 1888 in Washington, CT.
